Overview

The AIC10 is a tabletop motorized iris diaphragm (auto iris) controller designed for use with the Uniblitz AI25 Auto Iris. The AIC10 features an intuitive button array and digital user interface, allowing it to operate the iris via a modified serial command protocol. When equipped, the AIC10 will also operate the AI25’s optional high-speed shutter attachment independently from the iris. The shutter’s electronic sync allows the AIC10 to indicate the shutter’s state.

USB Control Protocols

Commands Description Decimal HEX Octal Binary ASCII
SHUTTER “Open” Opens shutter 64 40 100 01000000 @
SHUTTER “Close” Closes shutter 65 41 101 01000001 A
SHUTTER “Trigger” Toggles shutter state 66 42 102 01000010 B
SHUTTER/IRIS “Reset” Closes shutter, opens iris 67 43 103 01000011 C
IRIS “Decrement” Closes iris one position (step 1) 68 44 104 01000100 D
IRIS “End” Fully closes iris 69 45 105 01000101 E
IRIS “Goto” Sends iris to requested position 71 3 47 3 107 3 01000111 3 GX1X2 2
IRIS “Home” Fully opens iris 72 48 110 01001000 H
IRIS “Increment” Opens iris one position (step 1) 73 49 111 01001001 I

1 A step is equal to a single movement of the iris blades/aperture (while in the “Fine” resolution mode).

2 X1 and X2 are numerical positions of the iris where X1 is in the range of 0 to 5 and X2 is in the range of 0 to 9. See page 27 of the AIC10 User Manualfor specific aperture sizes at a given position (step).

3 These commands also require two additional characters for these commands to operate correctly and to go to your selected iris position.
