Tethering lab animals with fibers and wires compromises their ”freely-moving” status for behaviour studies. Going wireless and fiberless effectively removes those limitations. Fi-Wi Optogenetically Synchronized Electrophysiology System features the opto-electric cannula with one LED and up to four recording electrodes, the fiberless and wireless headstage* for communication between the cannula and the control console, and finally the electrophysiology console that configures the stimulation and recording parameters and displays the real-time data. The recording tips of the opto-electric cannulas are custom made for specific experiments which ensure flexibility in recording and illuminating different brain areas.
This system contains all the items necessary to record synchronized electrophysiological signals with optogenetic stimulation of freely-moving animals. The Fiberless & Wireless (Fi-Wi) OSE System includes:
- Fi-Wi opto-electric cannula (3x)
- Fiberless & Wireless headstage (2x)
- Electrophysiology console
- USB wireless charger
- Headstage Controller and Electrophysiology Analyzer Software
- Electrical cable to connect the console to the computer
